It's not a matter of spoiler. The spoiler is "fighting" with sets by using armored or isolated location and difficult to access by people.
In my opinion there are three options

But even in other years there were avalanche of tweets or items from production on the renewal. Argued, it is conjectured, and struggled along until the official announcement.

JP eJW familiar with the situation (and probably are already aware of the future of Fringe) and I think they are ready in all cases (perhaps by changing a bit the double finale) without having to rewrite an entire episode with their burdens at both production costs that will work for everyone - authors, actors, crew and assembly workers.
In any case it seems strange to me that start the final without having shot a 4.20 (besides all the shooting continued into the weekend ... in the last 3 weeks seems to have worked as a desperate ... we are sure that they were not already working on 4.20?) I'd like to know who passed the information to Gittins (source is usually reliable).
In various interviews Pinker & Wyman have always answered the question about changing the ending of season four, depending on whether the series was renewed or not, saying that in any case would have left exactly as they had thought from the beginning because in their view it is finishing a chapter of history to each end of the season and then start another with the next one (if renewed).
